One of my kitties died

So I have some sad news. Yesterday, my kitty Lilly died. It was really sad, and we'll miss her.

She's had an infection for a couple of months now that antibiotics didn't seem to be helping. And so I guess it was just her time. Yesterday, she got a lot worse than she has been. She could not longer hold herself up and toward the end of the day she slipped into a coma. And so we decided to put her to sleep. :(

On top of all that grief, our niece Miranda, who's 6, is planning to dress up as Lilly for Halloween. Jen made her this cute purple collar with a bell, just like Lilly's. I just hope that she doesn't want to come over to take pictures. I think that would pretty much ruin Halloween for her. And for us too.

We're mostly moved in...

Well the movers have come and gone. Good God I hate moving! They did an "afternoon move," which was supposed to begin at 5:30 and didn't begin until 6:00. The first thing they did was knock out our neighbors' cable wires. What a pleasant way to get to know your neighbors. Then, the movers didn't get done until Midnight! And of course I had to catch the train in to Chicago the next morning, which means I had to wake up at like 5 a.m. And then when I get home, it's going to be all unpacking and moving stuff around to get things where we want them. It is nice to have our stuff back again, though. Everything was there, as far as we could tell. And most everything was undamaged. A few things were broken but not much and not badly.

So, now begins our unpacking stage, which is of course nearly as unfun as moving. But at least now we can sit on our couch and watch TV, while we do it. Which reminds me. Ghosthunters is on tonight. Haven't seen it since July. :)
