Is my Kilt Showing?

So I got a chance to go golfing today, for the first time in about a year. I thought I'd treat myself now that the spring quarter is over. I was a little nervous about how I'd play, especially since I haven't played this course before. I played at Highlander Golf Club in East Wenatchee. The course was named the Highlander because the scenery and the windy setting reminded the designer of Scotland. I think it's a little bit of a stretch, but there's no denying that the course was beautiful.

I actually played okay too, for not having played in a year. I shot just under 100, which for me isn't too bad. I had a handful of pars and some birdie opportunities. And of course, I missed some really easy putts that would have given me a few more pars. So here are a few pics from the course. In the first one, you can see the Majestics in the background. They're part of the Cascade Range and have snow on them all year round.

This is hole number 9. It's a short par 3, but basically you're hitting over a ravine. It drops off pretty sharply, maybe a couple of hundred feet. There's a much better picture of this hole on the golf club's Web site.
Here you can sort of see down the Columbia Valley. I think you're supposed to think of a Loch when you see it from the course, another reason for the name, "Highlander." The course is built into the mountain side so that at this point there is about a 1,000 foot drop off down to level ground near the river . Rest assured, I hit a ball over that drop off. Twice. :)
But I still had fun and didn't embarrass myself. So all in all, I'd say it was a pretty good day.
